Now be honest, with this beautiful weather you don't want to train indoors in a hot, stuffy gym without air conditioning, do you?
It's time to get outside again! Being outdoors makes us happier and is also super healthy! What are the benefits of outdoor exercise, and what can you do?
1. Training with a weighted vest
Training with a weighted vest is an effective way to take your workouts to the next level. Go for a run in the park with your vest on. Stop for pull-ups and push-ups along the way!
2. Paddle
You've probably heard of it; who hasn't? I'm talking about padel, tennis's trendy little sister, of course. Invite your friends to a padel tournament, but on an outdoor court, of course!
3. Suspension trainer (TRX)
A Suspension Trainer, better known as a TRX, is super easy to take with you to, say, the local park, and offers many possibilities for full-body workouts using your own body weight! You can make it as heavy as you like, making it ideal for beginners as well as advanced users!
4. Battle rope
Want to test your endurance? Battle ropes are the perfect exercise! By undulating, thrashing, and twisting the heavy ropes, you'll use almost every muscle in your body. This workout combines strength and endurance—a real winner!
5. HIIT
High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is an effective way to achieve maximum results in a short time. But be warned, this training method requires discipline and perseverance! HIIT involves performing multiple high-intensity exercises with short breaks in between.
6. Tractor tire
Phew! But it's a "tractor," right? Of course, it depends on which John Deere model you pick up your tire from, but training with a tractor tire is a great way to test your endurance and strength! Challenge your friends: who can do the most tire flips in a row?
7. Climbing stairs
You're sure to find one near you. A high staircase. From a bridge, a shopping mall, or the local library. Stair climbing is one of the best conditioning exercises out there. Plus, it's a great workout for your legs and glutes! Put on your headphones, play "Eye of the Tiger" in the background, and go!
8. Swimming
Swimming in nature is a perfect way to strengthen your body and improve your fitness. Swimming is a full-body workout with very low impact on your joints. Besides being relaxing, swimming in nature can also improve your endurance, strengthen your muscles, and help keep your heart and lungs healthy.
9. Calisthenics
You're probably familiar with them, those "playgrounds" that are essentially just climbing frames. These so-called calisthenics parks are becoming increasingly common. Here you can do complete bodyweight workouts, although this does require some training beforehand.
10. Roller skating
Ice skating, but in the summer. Roller skating is a fun way to work on your fitness, core, glutes, and leg muscles. But uh... How do you brake with those things again?
Bonus tip: Pilates
Pilates not only trains your muscle strength but also your flexibility. We think it's the perfect way to regain your balance and look great this summer!
